Ronna Wineberg is a writer and editor. Her collection of short stories, SECOND LANGUAGE, won the New Rivers Press Many Voices Project Literary Competition.

It was also chosen as the runner-up for the 2006 Reform Judaism Prize for Jewish Fiction.

SECOND LANGUAGE: Thirteen beautifully crafted stories explore how relationships change over time -- relationships between lovers, spouses, friends, parents and children, and doctors and patients.  The book also explores the language of relationships and the impact of aging and illness on people and on the web of connections in their lives.

"The situations of Ronna Wineberg's characters are diverse, but they circle one inescapable theme with flawless emotional accuracy: that few are fulfilled, and even fewer will live out their lives without at least trying, bravely, to make a break for it."                                                                      Rosellen Brown

BOOK GROUPS:  Ronna would be happy to talk with your book or reading group in person if you live in the New York City area, or by telephone, or e-mail.  Please contact her directly.

THE COIN COLLECTOR:  Hear Ronna read her story, The Coin Collector, broadcast on National Public Radio's “From the Bookshelf.”
